Don’t let the quiet streets fool you in Greenport. Still waters run deep in the Peconic Bay! I look forward to winter on the North Fork every year. The Village lights, the ice-skating rink and the buzz in local bars, restaurants and shops.
Make sure you stop in to see the beautiful holiday decorations and gifts at Sweet Indulgences on Main Street. I love to give the Greenport cocktail napkins to friends.
Pick up a great LBD for your holiday party or your next beach escape at Duo or Calypso, then head to Main Street and check out the accessories at Taste.
The restaurant, La Cuvee at The Greenporter Hotel is open Thursdays through Sundays for dinner where you’ll find our master mixologist, Realtor and local personality, Michael Santiago. He makes a mean Martini. For this holiday season his latest hit is Cranberry Mojitos, my fav. Careful though, he may sell you a 2 million dollar beach house, while muddling your mint! The restaurant is cozy and warm for the holidays so drop by with friends for dinner and get ready to meet new people having dinner at the bar.
Michael is such a people magnet that no one eats alone at La Cuvee. He draws in quite a singles crowd on Thursday and Friday nights so bring in your single friends or just pop in for a snack (hint, hint).
After dinner head downtown to the Whiskey Wind, the favorite local bar. Here you can sing karaoke with the local fisherman or a bachelorette party or a film cast kicking back after a long day of shooting on the North Fork. If you think that this local bar is not up to par — think again or just read US WEEKLY Magazine to see what you missed.
This bar is not just about the drinks, the pool table or foosball table. They have a genuine jukebox! Hungry after a night of cocktails? Lucky you, they serve Tombstone pizza which is particularly fabulous at 3 a.m. The owners Jimmy and Chrissy want everyone to have a good time at the Wind – so head downtown!
