Greenport’s best lunch place in my opinion! Butta’cakes features several flavors of cupcakes from Pistachio (my favorite) to Mocha, Pineapple-Coconut and Red Velvet.
New to the strip is Bruce’s “Funk N Country” formerly known as The Blue. A very groovy, country western bar featuring tail-gate parties complete with a retro 1950’s blue pick-up and bails of hay.
Got Aldo Photography by Liz Malone Aldo’s of Greenport continues his iconic presence on Front Street. “Closed is the new Open” is Aldo’s code language to insiders that they can come around the back for his house-roasted coffee and his world famous biscotti and scones. Don’t forget to tell him that “The Greenporter sent you!”
The Market on Front Street moved last year from their smaller residential-style space into a large commercial space next to Century 21. Her new store is a combination of cafe/gourmet grocery store/small town meet and greet. The sandwiches are fantastic and she has a large variety of organic and exotic products.
Dennis of Frisky Oyster just opened Frisky Oyster Bar. It’s white, sleek interior and beautiful wide plank floors make for an inviting evening of cocktails — just minutes from The Greenporter.
Gregory and Deborah Gove just opened a lovely new liquor right on Front Street. He is the wine maker at the acclaimed Peconic Bay Winery. They will have a wide selection of local and international wines.
D’Latte across from “Antone’s salon” aka Choppy Toppy’s on Main Street has joined forces with Chef Tom Schaudel of A Mano, Cool Fish and Gabrielle’s. The tuna, marinated artichoke and black olive sandwich on a baguette has perfect Mediterranean flavors and try either the black bean soup or the tortilla soup. The salami and Provolone and Spinach and Fontina looked great too. They also have great homemade Gelatos and desserts.
