We are dressed for Easter at The Greenporter Hotel. Christine, our morning maitre d’ hotel, prepared the most lovely Easter eggs in bright green and pink with dried pansy blossoms for our tables. They sit atop individual potted nests as holiday center pieces. Our guests will enjoy these decorations, as they prepare to head to the homes of friends or family for Easter.
When visiting your own family tomorrow, don’t worry about showing up empty-handed. It’s so easy to pick up a small gift that can make your host feel special. A jar of nostalgic jelly beans or a potted rosemary plant will do the trick. If your host is serving leg of lamb, pick up a bottle of local wine for Easter dinner like the 2007 Merlot from Paumanok Vineyards. It is a lascivious red – so voluptuous it’ll make a grown man cry.
So this Easter, enjoy your friends and family, your meal, the wine, the laughs and the moment.
