Lemon and Cayenne Pepper Tea for a Daily Cleanse

The great thing about life is that with every sunrise, you have the opportunity to start fresh. Post holiday season, we are all realizing the effects of having indulged in too much sugar or alcohol, or just holiday over-eating.

However, we should not define ourselves by the indulgences of a few months–which is why it’s great to be able to have a daily cleansing ritual like this lemon tea. It will brighten the day with renewing vitamin C, and with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper, it’ll jump start the metabolism. This is something you can drink every morning as a daily cleanse and a reminder to yourself that today is a new day.

8 ounces of boiling water
The juice of half a lemon
A dash or the slightest pinch of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon of maple syrup, (optional sweetener)

Once the water is heated, simply mix all the ingredients together in your favorite mug.
